Westwood Physical Therapy’s effective approach to TMJ treatment was first established and developed by Joan Schmidt, P.T. while affiliated with the UCLA TMJ clinic in the early 1980s. All of our treating physical therapists are trained personally by Joan.

Our therapy for TMJ treatment can reduce inflammation, restore function and promote repair and regeneration of injured tissue. Exercises are important to maintain normal muscle function and comfort, increase muscle strength, develop normal coordination and stabilize the joint.
